Ability to conduct a thorough dietetic examination in the context of eating disorders;
Understanding of the high degrees of ambivalence and fear of change in people with eating disorders, as well as the ability to respond empathically to these feelings;
a thorough understanding of the guidelines for safe therapy;
Ability to describe the purpose of weight growth in malnourished people;
Ability to communicate the dangers of refeeding syndrome and the necessity for specialised nutritional restoration therapy;
Ability to offer appropriate follow-up for persons who have been referred for treatment, as well as manage an eating disorder patient who is awaiting treatment;
Ability to collaborate and assess progress with professionals from other disciplines in the delivery of multidisciplinary care.
